Weekly Winners : 24 – 31 July

Weekly Winners on my new blog is like building a tower …

…. step by step !!!  …

… and once I reach the top .. I can look down …

..and hopefully everything will be in place …

…as it’s rather frustrating when all photos get put on the left of the screen, when I download them to the middle … will they move to the right (middle) like the Namaqualand Daisies – our brightly coloured indigenous late winter/early spring flowers – all pointing to the direction in which I would like the photo to go … !!!!

Bright sunshine yellows …

… salmon colours …

….orangey oranges ..

.. and wishy washy oranges mingle together …

… but there is nothing nicer in Spring than the scent of Jasmine … flush with pink buds with the odd one bursting open ….. is Spring around the corner? !!!

We’ve had oranges, yellows and pinks .. so what about some tiny blue flowers of Rosemary …

The highlight of this week marks the end of an era for my hubby who retired on Friday.   He had worked for the same company for 34 years !!

Quite emotional for him with so many goodbyes, ‘good lucks’, lovely cards and gifts  … very well deserved …

.. and must highlight this homemade card below .. isn’t it beautiful ?!

P.S.  I don’t have him all to myself yet … he will be doing contract work for a little while …. but we are going away on our ‘retirement holiday’ to Mauritius next weekend for 10 days …  really really looking forward to it !!!   🙂  🙂  🙂

…. soooo this will be my last Weekly Winners for a couple of weeks  …  and just another P.S. here – I am not happy with the quality of the photos downloading them onto this new blog.  Is it because the pixels are reduced ?  (I have finally learned how to reduce the size of the photos!  Yay for me !! – so I won’t use up, quickly, all my ‘photo quota’ as I did in the previous blog !

  1. I think you have done a G8 job with your new posts. The low resolution photos will not be as clear as the high resolution pics, because you have reduced the number of pixels; they are perfectly OK for your Blog page. You only need high resolution if you are going to print them in a magazine or book.

  2. The pics look fine. I am very jealous about the trip though. You better not forget the camera at home. Take lots of pics and show us what it looks like.

  3. You lucky girl, you’ve still got your holiday ahead of you! Congratulations on the retirement of your hubby and on the new site. It looks lovely! I started a new blog ( and added the is) because I wanted to change the template to have bigger pictures. When the time comes and they ask money to get more photo space I think I’ll just pay that. I’m really quite fond of my Blogspot space!
