Sunday Selections #3

Sunday Selections #3

Something newish from Kim at Frogpondsrock from way ‘down-under’ who has started a meme – Sunday Selections – no rules here and you can submit any photo you like … old/archived or new …

….. I’ll stick to ‘new’ for my first ‘selection’ and share with my bloggy friends what I see every morning, from my bed, through my bedroom window … we had just had a shower of rain early this morning and the sun was peeping through the clouds ….  (the ‘jungle gym’ looking contraption at the end of the pool holds the pool net when not fixed onto pool surrounds … which is hardly ever!)

… looking to the left …. (lawn is a little yellowish here because of the morning sunlight .. it is green!)

Now … let me take you to a corner in my back garden ….

… where my Sylvia rose (planted in honour of my Mum) is budding and blooming again …

Frequently, I am watched by the neighbours dogs – an enormous Bull Mastiff and a huge German Shephard – which stand on their hind legs on a concrete platform which the ex wife/girlfriend-of-the-chappie-next-door built for the purpose of, we have no idea, but probably to do just that …. peep into our garden whilst standing on it!  (Her little 4 year old daughter used to stand on a pink plastic stool in order to peer over the 6 ft wall!)

There he is … the huge German Shephard … head above the 6 ft wall between stem of the purple cordyline and a tree trunk …

In the foreground of the photo above are orange Crocosmia … close-up below ..

Remember the beans Bradley and Connor planted some time ago … they are flourishing .. ‘beaning’ and flowering continually despite being eaten by aphids !!  I really need to take them out as my thyme is being smothered !!!!

I wonder if the boys will notice if I take them out to make way for the thyme !!

To end my first post for ‘Sunday Selections’ …

…. something pretty but not-very-pleasant smelling …

… something calming and relaxing …

… and something pink and frilly …

  1. You have the most beautiful garden and the most stunning view of it from the bedroom window. LOL! at the dog and the thought of the neighbour peeping over to see what you are doing. Perhaps she liked your garden.

  2. Maybe you could grow a very prickly climbing rose along the wall there? Thanks for joining in Avril it was lovely to see your garden, it is beautiful. It was also nice to see so many familiar plants. Cheers Kim
