Paris : Palace of Versailles

Paris : Palace of Versailles

I do hope you’re not getting bored with my photos from our amazing ‘Best of France’ Trafalgar Tour ūüôā¬† in July of last year¬†already .. how time has flown!!¬† ¬†Having¬†blogged¬†our entire trip around France, I need to¬†do the rest of our stay Paris to complete¬†my ‘journal’ ¬†!!

This is still Day 12 of the tour, which started with a bus¬†tour of the city followed by a¬†panoramic view¬†of the city from the second floor of the Eiffel Tower¬† … next stop …

Ch√Ęteau de Versailles ..¬†wow !!¬† Amazing!!¬† ¬†Magnificent!!¬† Grandiose!!¬† Of course I took many, many photos¬† .. of the gardens,¬†ornate furnishings, hundreds of portraits adorning every inch of wall space,¬† statues, sculptures, magnificant painted ceilings¬†¬†(I had never seen anything like it before).¬† It was pretty crowded .. in fact it was packed !¬†.. we had to shuffle our way through each room, following our delightful guide, Veronique and her green umbrella, while listening intently to what she was saying through our ear-pieces

En route to the Ch√Ęteau through Paris ..

Peeking through a window at Marie Antoinette’s balcony, from where, it is said, she watched a rioting mob approaching the Palace.¬† It started as a Women’s March in 1789, rioting over the high price and scarcity of bread but was soon joined by thousands of renegades ..
