Day two of our Cape holiday

Day two of our Cape holiday

A ‘short and sweet’ post as our house is topsy turvy with painters.  And the dust!!!  Incredible!!   Fine white dust from sanding rough bits on walls and burglar bars.   It’s so fine it creeps through sheeting I’ve used to cover everything .. and then the wind blows through the open windows which can’t be closed because the paint is wet !  After they leave after a day’s work I dust and clean .. ready for the next day.  We are living around the chaos and moving things from room to room as and when they move from room to room.   Bedroom section of house is finished and looks great!!!!

We turned off the main N1 onto the R44 stopping at one of our favourite wine estates, Rust en Vrede, in Stellenbosch for their well-known, and absolutely delicious .. because-we’ve-experienced-it-a-couple-of-times before.. Wine Maker’s lunch and of course a glass of wine … or two .. just to get us into the Cape ‘feeling’ 😉

We stayed at the Vineyard Hotel in Newlands for two nights, our favourite hotel in Cape Town, before moving on to spend time with friends and family.  That first evening, Ian and Kathy joined us for a very good meal in the pub

Following day : Somerset West and a walk around the beautiful gardens of the hotel
