Piggly Wiggly Country Village
Back to the Midlands of KwaZulu Natal, (our meander around the Midlands after holidaying in Ballito in May) and in particular to a shopping experience at Piggly Wiggly Country Village. Hubby and I stopped here for a light lunch at the original establishment of Piggly Wiggly, which I believe, and as I overheard someone say, started as a farm stall and over the last 10 years has grown into a delightful country village …
A miniature train runs around the village over weekends. Wished it had been operating while we were there ..
Lovely solid functional furniture in Homewood. The floor is covered in a thick layer of wood shavings 🙂
Unusual hanging shelves ..
Entrance to a nursery is tucked in-between buildings …
Beautiful linen, rugs and cushions in the Linen Loft …
I was not the most popular person for taking photos hence the block-out of makers of beautiful rugs. Silly me, I should have asked. Some shops had prominent signs at the entrances but I didn’t see one here
Gorgeous clothing and other lovely goodies in Tour les Jours …
I love lavender, as is known by many, so naturally I gravitated towards the Lavender Co. How could anyone resist passing without entering with a gorgeous perfume wafting from the door. Heavenly!! What a pity the farm is closed to visitors now and only have their shop at Piggly Wiggly. How I would love to walk through a field of lavender !!!!!
And then there is the inside. Flowery scents mingling together .. not overpowering at all. Calming. Sense of peace and tranquillity. I could have spent the rest of the day there. My kind of retail therapy. After telling the shop assistant we were still to book into our hotel, Granny Mouse, she said all their bath products are supplied by Lavender Co. and I’m going to love them !! Sooo, naturally I had to buy some as I knew we wouldn’t be stopping here again during our brief stay in the Midlands
Piggly Wiggly is a definite for a return visit when next we’re in the area, to pop into places we missed… and stock up on goodies from Lavender Co. Ooooh it’s gorgeous stuff!!! Natural oil bath salts, bath oils, bath creams, hand and body lotions, soaps … … … Loverrly !!
