Room with a view at Granny Mouse
As I wrote previously, today’s post is featuring ‘ our very comfortable and tastefully decorated room with fireplace, and a super bathroom complete with floral touches, essential oils and bath salts (all from Lavender and Co.) ‘ plus our walk down to the Lions River 🙂
Isn’t it gorgeous .. this is our room at Granny Mouse
Lions River below …
I had heavenly baths in a rather dinky corner bath with bath oil, bath crystals and bath milk – a blend of Lavender, Ylang-Ylang and Sandalwood supplied by The Lavender Co.’s (their honeymoon range 😉 )
Ooooh it was l-o-v-e-r-r-l-y !!!
Bath crystals under a candle give the room the most wonderful aroma. On our arrival the room smelt heavenly!!! When the beds are turned down at night, the lantern was lit again. Gorgeous fragrance filled the room, choccies on pillow and a crackling fire (we lit it before we went to dinner) … and the electric blanket was turned on 🙂
Autumn shades on the pin oaks outside …
On waking on our first morning there, a light mist hung over the valley – I zoomed in to the horses on the opposite farm ..
Walk down to the Lions River : Vervet monkey watched us as we strolled down the tree covered path
Hotel nestled amongst trees …
Our room (centre of picture) …
Our last morning at Granny Mouse, sadly :
Sun touches the ground as a new day begins ..
Surprise … surprise !!! When hubby and I returned to the room to collect our bags after breakfast for our departure look who had been sitting on the tea tray as I walked in. He had ripped open cookie and chocolate wrappings (those we hadn’t eaten) and was nibbling at them. Managed to capture him eating the evidence on the patio railing ..
We had such a lovely stay here. Hope we return one day soon 🙂 (I will remember to close windows when leaving the room !!)
Our next stop was Champagne Castle Hotel in the magnificent Drakensberg for two nights before returning home
