Light lunch with a view at Ernie Els Wine Estate, Stellenbosch
As I mentioned in my previous post we picked the wrong day for lunch and wine tasting at Idiom Wines in Somerset West as it was closed to the public for a function.
Hubby and I, with our niece Daniella, had been to Ernie Els Wine Estate in November last year on a chilly rainy day (blog post still to follow) so on this sunny hot day we, Gavin, Kathy, hubby and I decided to have lunch there .. on the patio with a stunning view
Complimentary chilled ‘Big Easy by Ernie Els’ Chenin Blanc as we walked in .. and which Gav, Kathy and I decided have a bottle of same with our lunch ..
.. while hubby had a glass of Ernie Els Proprietor’s Syrah ..
It’s a small menu which changes periodically. Kathy and I had the Chicken Poke bowl … deeeeelish !!
Gavin had gnocchi which I think consisted of three cheeses and cauliflower …
Hubby had a succulent burger …
Anyone can take a swing of a golf club, if they so wish …
It was our last day with my brother Ian and Kathy in Somerset West. We had a particularly glorious sunset as a send-off …
My next post, I think, should be our last visit to Ernie Els a few months ago when I took more interior pics
