Re-learning my photographic skills

Re-learning my photographic skills

As I said in my previous post, I have seldom picked up my camera this past year.  At the end of last year, November to be exact, I had a bi-lateral carpal tunnel op inhibiting the use of both hands and fingers.  Neat small cuts in the palms made it awkward and tender to hold anything for quite a while including a camera which seemed to weigh a ton!!   Once the healing process sped up a notch or two, it was such a pleasure to be able to feel the tips of fingers after a couple of years of very little to none.  It became guess work as to whether my trigger finger was actually pressing the shutter button.

Clicking away capturing flowers around the garden yesterday made me realise I need more practice!!  I’ve also found I’m not as steady as I used to be.  Old age creeping up perhaps ? !!!  So … I attempted a few more shots this morning after lovely soft overnight rain left raindrops hanging on leaves, petals and branches.    Should have used a 50mm lens and a steady hand (or tried my best for the latter) and a tripod

Not happy with this one
…nor this
